When Problems Occur†
If you encounter any problems while using "RPG Developer Bakin", please see below.
Backup†
- We strongly recommend that you specify "Auto Backup" in the top menu > Configuration in case of a crash.
- Backup files can be accessed from the top menu History or Local PC, select the project in question, and click on "Continue from Backup".
Roll Back†
- If an update causes a problem with this tool, it is possible to roll back to a previous version using the following method
1) After launching the steam client, open the gear icon on the right side of the Steam Library page > Properties.
2) Select "BETAS" from the menu on the left side of the properties.
3) Select the version you wish to roll back from the "Select the beta you would like to opt into;" combo box.
4) The update starts and rolls back to the specified version.
Attention
We will gradually remove older builds of RPG Developer Bakin, which can be downloaded from Steam > Library > Properties > Betas. This is due to the limited number of builds that can be registered on Steam. Thank you for your understanding.
Responding to Problems When They Occur†
- When the "Exceptions" dialog box appears
If a dialog box such as "An exception occurred at 00" is displayed, please take the following actions first.
Then please see Contact Us section and contact us.
1) Press the "Details" button in the dialog.
2) Copy the entire contents displayed -> Paste into a notepad application, etc. -> Save as a text file.
- When a crash report appears
If the Crash Report dialog is displayed, please take the following actions.
Then please see Contact Us section and contact us.
1) Press the "Copy to Clipboard" button in the dialog
2) Paste the copied content into a notepad application, etc -> Save as a text file.
- If "RPG Developer Bakin" is terminated without generating a crash report
Then please see Contact Us section and contact us.
- If this tool does not launch
If Bakin has stopped launching, the following actions may improve the situation.
If it does not launch after trying the following, please see Contact Us section and contact us.
- After launching the Steam Client, go to Properties (gear icon) on the right side of the Steam Library page in this tool > Properties > Local Files > Verify the integrity of software files.
- Try deleting settings.dat, FSMTool.dat and mapedit_docking.config from the Bakin installation directory.
- Try updating the graphics board drivers.
- Try to roll back to a previous version of Bakin, as described in this page, and see if it launches.

If the tool crashes, please check the Windows Task Manager, and if the tool's task is still listed, terminate it, and then restart the tool.†

- Information that Must Be Included in Your Inquiry
- System Report
Please create and send us a system report to obtain information about your PC environment using the following method.
1) Launch Bakin and open "Configuration" on the left side of the top menu.
2) Press the "System Report" button in "Configuration" to open a dialog box and generate a report of your PC environment.
3) Press the Copy to Clipboard button at the bottom of the report, then paste into a notepad application, etc., then save the file as a text file.
- Text File recording the "Details" of the "Exception" dialog (if the "Exception" dialog is displayed)
- Text File recording the contents of the Crash Report dialog (if a crash report is displayed)
- Information that we may ask you to provide, if necessary
You may be asked to provide the following information as part of the problem investigation.
If it becomes necessary during the communication after your inquiry, our representative will ask you to provide the information, so please respond to the request.
- Zip File of Project Folder
To create a ZIP file, open the project, right-click on the project path in the upper right corner of the Map Editor window, and select "Pack the project into a ZIP file".
The exported file will be named "ProjectFolderName.zip", so please rename the file to your own name when you inquire.
- Windows Application Event Viewer Error Log
1) Please launch an application called "Event Viewer" in Windows and open the view of managed events.
2) Under the section called "Administrative Events," error indications are lined up below the level.
3) If you click on an error, the details will appear in the view at the bottom of the screen, and if you find one that is related to Bakin, right click -> Save Selected Events
4) In the dialog that appears after you name the file, check "Display information for these languages" and press OK. (If multiple choices are displayed, put a check in English).
The error list includes the time of occurrence, so you can get a rough idea. There may be one or two errors.
- Task Manager Dump
1) Start the Windows Task Manager
2) Locate the process for this tool in the "Apps" or "Background Processes" section of the Task Manager.
3) A dump file is generated by right-clicking on the process of this tool > selecting Create Dump File.
